Engaging a Small Group

 

SUMMARY

This twelve-week study introduces experienced church leaders as well as newly recruited Bible study teachers to insights and skills to engage group members in the teaching and learning process. Throughout the study, references are made to the Master Teacher’s modeling of engagement techniques that involved crowds, His disciples, and individuals. Each session includes multiple Active Learning Techniques that can be used in small and large study groups to add durable learning.

 

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain why engagement strategies are valuable tools to enhance learning.
  • Identify Gospel teaching episodes that model engagement techniques.
  • Incorporate engagement strategies for groups that vary in size and age.
  • Create a Bible study lesson plan that engages learners and leads to spiritual transformation.
