SUMMARY

This course offers an overview of the Old Testament to help students deepen their love and appreciation for it by exploring how God reveals himself and his plan to save his people. The course focuses on the overall structure of the Old Testament, examining the Law, Prophets, and Writings to see how each book contributes to the larger story.

OBJECTIVES

• To gain a general understanding of the overall flow of the Old Testament.
• To be introduced to a covenantal framework of the Old Testament.
• To deepen your love for our unchanging God, recognizing that He is the same throughout the Old and New Testaments, and remains the same today and forever.
• To learn the impact of sin on God’s good creation and God’s relentless pursuit of his people.
• To grow in your worship and dependence on God as you see how the Old Testament story shows why people need a Savior.
• To develop a solid foundation in Old Testament knowledge that will enable you to effectively lead and teach others in a small group and beyond.
